QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Garage door questions, answered the plain way.
Short answers on scheduling, safety, and what to expect when a door acts up. Do not see yours? Just call.
Do you offer same-day garage door repair in Ohio?
Yes. Same-day visits are possible across Ohio when the schedule and the parts allow. Call with your address and a short description of the trouble, and we will book the next open slot. Our hours are 7am to 10pm, every day.
Are you a licensed garage door contractor?
Yes. Nextdoor Garage Door is a licensed garage door contractor and a locally owned and operated company. We repair and install garage doors for both homes and businesses.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We look at the door, explain what it needs in plain words, and give you a clear estimate before any work begins. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do you work on commercial garage doors?
Yes. We repair springs, cables, openers, and panels on shop, warehouse, and storefront doors, as well as home garage doors. Tell us the size of the door and how often it runs when you call.
Which cities do you serve?
We serve Ohio homes and businesses from two shops, one in Strongsville and one in East Cleveland. Around those shops, that includes Lakewood, Parma, Euclid, Cleveland Heights, Westlake, Shaker Heights, Maple Heights, Garfield Heights, Rocky River, Bay Village, North Olmsted, and more. See the full list on our service areas page.
What should I do if my garage door spring breaks?
Stop pressing the opener, keep the door closed, and call us. A broken spring leaves the door heavy and unsafe to lift. Springs hold a lot of tension, so please do not try to adjust or replace one yourself.
Is it better to repair my door or buy a new one?
If the door is in decent shape, repair is usually the better value. A new spring, new rollers, or a single new panel can bring it back. If several sections are damaged, rusted, or rotted, or if the door is very old, replacement may make more sense. We will explain both options so you can decide.
How do I book a visit?
Call us, or fill out the quote form on this page. Give your street, describe what the door did, and say whether it sits up or down, and we will offer the first open slot.
Why does my garage door act up in winter?
Cold stiffens grease, shrinks rubber seals, and makes old springs more likely to break. Ice can also freeze the door to the floor. A fall tune-up helps catch these problems before the first hard freeze.
